My very first. So very much smaller than I had expected. This morning it was a caterpillar hanging from the top of the habitat in a j shape with no sign of splitting the skin yet. When I got back from the grocery store, it was like this, new and shiny with the old skin on the bottom of the habitat. I only had 3 caterpillars survive and the other 2 are still eating like pigs. All the ones I left outside in hopes of natural photos, were eaten by predators so I will never leave any outside again that I find. The waiting begins. Can't get very good photos in the habitat but the end result of having a butterfly survive to be released, is more important than photos.
