Mystery Meat
I spotted this strange object caught in spider web on an elephant ear by the pier. There was heavy dew and it was wet. Apparently it was a spider meal wrapped in silk turned translucent when wet. Been trying to figure out what is inside. That red stripe makes me think it might be a red admiral butterfly. I sent it to the experts on bugguide and they agreed it was a spider meal and my guess was as good as any. They actually kept this shot & moved it to a section named Unidentified Webs and Other Silken Constructions.
