Common Checkered Skipper
One of the best things about visiting a nature preserve or site for the first time is that you find so many species that are new for you. Much more than the 1 or 2 new ones you might find at your usual spots. I'd never seen a common checkered skipper even though they are fairly "common". Very happy to run across one at John Bunker Sands Wetland Center.
