Salvia azurea is a native flowering perennial found in the grasslands. I found a patch of it in a blackland prairie preservation area. It attracted all kinds of pollinators like this American Bumble bee. It has several common names such as Pitcher sage, Big blue sage, Azure sage, Giant blue sage, Blue sage. I love blue flowers and apparently so do the pollinators. This was my first time to photograph it.
