Ran across a new species of robber fly while in the woods. Large, brightly colored with amazing green eyes when the light hit them just right. They get their name from their habit of hanging upside down by one foot from a twig while they subdue and eat their prey. When I tried to move to a different angle so a stick would not be between us, it took off and disappeared. So keeping this shot as documentation of a new species for me. Love robber flies.
