Pretty Perch

Very common dragonfly & I usually just ignore them because I already have lots of photos. But this guy was impossible to ignore. Posing in the sunshine on fresh lumber stuck in the ground to mark the spot where a tree would be planted. The colors are beautiful. Anytime you poke a stick or piece of wood upright in the ground, along a creek bank, dragonflies will find it.
