Nothing Says Summer Like Fire Ants
There are clumps of ornamental grasses along a walking path at White Rock Lake. They have these 2 foot mounds of hard packed light colored dirt that almost looks shellacked at the base of the grasses. Reminded me of African termite mounds. I kicked one open to see and this is what I got. Guess they look different from the mounds we get in our yards due to a different kind of soil available.
