Better View Of The Egg Sac
She was moving quickly so I only got one other shot but this one shows the egg sac better. Wolf spiders attach their egg sacs to their spinnerets. They have to hold their abdomen in a raised position to keep the sac from dragging on the ground. When the babies emerge, the spiderlings immediately scramble up the mothers legs and cluster on her abdomen for protection. That is a sight I hope to see some day.
