I stumbled on this in the middle of a blackland prairie preserve. Looked like a tomato. Researched and sure enough, there is a wild tomato genus with 13 species. Don't ever try to eat one however, there are other species in the same family, different genus that look like tomatos but are poisonous, such as horse nettle. After all, they are all, including our table tomato, in the family known as nightshade which has a lot of poisonous members.
