Antelope Horns Milkweed
My first photos of the flowers of this native milkweed. These are in the blackland prairie preservation area at White Rock Lake, Winfrey Point. It gets its name from the seed pods which look like antelers. A very hardy native with a long taproot which lets it thrive even in droughts. Host plant to the threatened Monarchs.
