The love story in Kathy's words:
"Back in 1994 when the bottom fell out of the Emu industry, a man that I bought hay from called to tell me he had 10 Emu eggs in his incubator and he was unplugging it did I want them. Not really thinking it through, I said, of course! I bought the very nice incubator for $50.00 and took the eggs. They hatched and my staff and I loved on them constantly. Those babies were carried around until their legs got too long. They turned out to be great pets. Over the years I have given them to trusted friends that wanted a pet Emu and had the property to accommodate them. I kept Riley because he was my special guy. So, ours has been a 26 year long love story."
