Took awhile to realize this bird was banded. My friend has a bigger lens so she was able to capture the info on the bands & send it off. We found out that she hatched in a nestbox that was part of the Peregrine Falcon Recovery Project in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She is female, & was named Florence. She hatched in early June & was banded in late June. She fledged in July & was last seen there in late August when she went off to live her best life. The lady from the project said "Texas is a favorite place for a lot of our falcons - adults and kids - to either over winter or to pass through on their way too/from Mexico." So this was indeed a wild bird and not one that a local falconer lost. They were delighted to know she had survived her first migration.
