Preparing To Fly
This was the last shot I got of Mama hawk that day. She flew out of sight and even though I waited a bit, she did not return. Papa was brooding in the nest with only his tail showing. I felt so fortunate to have been allowed a glimpse into their life.
Once a week, for the next several weeks, I checked on the nest and there was always someone on it but they stayed hunkered down with only a bit of color showing. It would be a full month before I saw more of them.
