Nesting Colony

These swallows are sociable, and they nest in large colonies vertically on cliffs, under bridges, in caves, & sides of dams. They do everything in large groups whether it be feeding, preening, bathing or migrating. They come to North Texas and use existing nest colonies to raise their babies then migrate back to South America for the winter. This colony was very large & this was the most nests I could get in the frame at one time. I could only back away so far without falling into the water.
