Blending In
Brown creepers like to choose the biggest trees around & sidle up and down the trunk looking for bugs in the bark. Their bills are long and curved, perfect for prying into the bark. They are so hard to see because they blend into the colors of the tree and with mature trees in a woodlands, it is dark. I chased this one for a long time from tree to tree and only ended up with two shots worth keeping but very glad to get them.
