Losing Their Enthusiasm

When the scissor-tailed flycatcher kept going and did not produce food, the baby birds lost their excitement. I felt sorry for them reacting in this way to every bird that flew by. I did not see the parents on this trip but trusted they would arrive soon with lots of juicy insects.
