Looks like this brother & sister are on their own now, no adults were around. The top one is the male with a well defined white chin strap and red eyes. An adult male would look the same in summer plumage but with a colorful bill. The lower juvenile is a female with a dark brown eye and lacks the white chin strap. An adult female in summer would have a more elongated white eye ring. Wood ducks in summer colors, both adults & juveniles, are a real challenge to identify.
