Trolling For Food

This was the first time I saw the Northern Pintail when it was feeding in this manner. Normally I would see it with its top half underwater and its butt in the air. It swam in this position for quite a while. I am not sure what it was eating. It is a dabbling duck which means it eats in the shallow top of the water and does not dive deep for its food.
