Pink Legs & Bill

Normally I see the oddball gulls on the spillway but this time it was way out in the bay. Just the one. Getting a sip of water and showing off the matching pink on the bill that goes with the legs and feet. Herring gulls have 4 different stages of life with plumage changes each time. Getting the right id can be tricky since we also get other oddball large gull species. I always double-check my id with a local gull expert I know.
