I love how you can find a gull assortment on the White Rock lake spillway. On first glance you might think they are all ring-bills but look closer. There are 3 larger tan gulls here. The one all the way to the right is that rare Thayer's gull. The other two darker gulls are herring gulls with the darker one being a bit younger. Then you have the cute little guy in the bottom left. That is a franklin's gull. The rest are ring-bills. Give myself headaches combing thru gull shots but worth it when I find one like this with 4 species. Great for size comparisions.
