Read MoreA Pair Of Chiloé Wigeons
On June 13, 2016 a pair of Chiloé Wigeon flew into Sunset Bay. On June 22 I saw them for the first time. Rare sighting. They don't migrate or live in North Texas. Native to the lowest part of South America. Probably escaped or released birds from some place that stocks exotics. They stayed a long time, thru the summer and winter and the male, at least, has been spotted there in Spring 2017. Just now getting around to working on my folder full of their photos. The male is on the left with more iridescence on his head and more color on his flanks, plus he is larger. A lifer for me and probably the only ones I'll ever see.
