Read MoreNot A Native Texan
Way out in sunset bay I could see a log with several turtles. When I cropped it to see who we had, it was an interesting mix. All the way to the right is a river cooter and there are 2 red-eared sliders in the middle. Those are both native species for Texas. But on the left end is a yellow-bellied slider and that is not found native in Texas. So that one would be a pet someone dumped at the lake that is thriving in its new habitat. I've found several of these at this lake.
