Read MoreUnder The Log
There was not a lot stirring on a very chilly morning so I was turning over logs and stirring up leaves to see what I could find. Under a small log I found an anole asleep. In cold weather they stay under leaves and wood, don't eat and don't move very much. They seem to turn brown also, I've never seen a cold green anole that was green. There were a couple of pill bugs keeping it company. It was very dark so I took a couple of shots in the direction of slight movement before everyone wiggled back under the log. That is why I didn't realize I'd cut off the tip of its nose at the time.
