Diamondback Water Snake Mating Behavior 1

I was walking along the creek bank when I saw a lot of movement in an area with debris and dead wood. I was not sure what I was seeing but I started taking photos. At first I thought it was just one really big snake but in this first shot there were 2 of them. I really didn't realize what was going on until the last few shots. With hindsight, this is a very large gravid female diamondback water snake and a smaller, lighter colored male interested in mating with her.
