A week after I saw the tiny baby swallow, I went back. No sign of the parents this time. But the nest was crammed full of babies, I counted at least 4. I'm sure the parents were super busy trying to keep this batch fed. They must have been doing a good job because these babies were not begging, they looked stuffed and just looked at me. Food coma. They looked ready to fledge. A week after that I visited again and the nest was empty with neither babies or parents anywhere to be seen. Another successful year is finished.
