I was told the red-shouldered hawks nested in the fish hatchery & there was a place you could see it from high above. That was true but you could not see very much or get photos, at least not without a digiscope which I don't have. Then an old birder friend of mine had me follow him through the maze of trails in the hatchery to an obscure path where if you looked in the right direction, you could see the nest without disturbing them. They were in the process of building the nest. Still hard to see with all the branches but I loved watching them and this shot was ok. Their secret is safe, I could not find my way back there on my own in a million years plus it would not be visible once the trees leafed out. This was my first glimpse of a hawk nest. Thanks Eric.
