A couple of weeks after the great egrets and black-crowned night herons, the snowy egrets show up for the party at the rookery. Like the great egrets, the snowies have breeding plumes, but they grow them from more places so have more plumes than the great egrets. Here you can see plumes coming from the back of the head, the breast, the wings and they also grow from the back between the wings.
